Have you had a friend and know someone who always buy for the sake of buying, an emotional dresser, style loving ( or, hoarding to be real), having a closet stagnant of all things fast and lux, piled up, yet still can’t get enough as the ever-changing trend goes around?
Well, now you do! I was that endless fashion shopper on all things E-commerce, retail, gift receiver, and all things fashion specifically to say. I’d never want to wear the same thing twice, yet don’t know how to take care of a piece of clothing, nor knowing the real relationship between me and the fabrics, style, its source, etc.
While the fashion trend is ever-changing so had my ideology of the “trend-chasing” appetite matured, my OG identity had been challenged in every way. The more things I own and pursue, the less I find meaning between the relationship of myself and the piece of clothing, the more I try to avoid and ignore the true gravity of the effect caused by my own incomprehensible overconsumption. These effects had gone into the air we breathe, into the water we drink, onto our skin and our diminishing values towards clothing and fashion as a whole.
The fine line between true style and the ultimate self-expressionist ego often are blurred, aiding that underlying formation of an unsatisfactory addiction. The seemingly glam and fast dropping fashion cycle has always been short-lived. Whether if it’s the intense high you and I feel on a spending spree, the untouched smell and sleek feel of an entire new and unworn fabric, a cheap steal from this summer’s biggest sale, the bold trending new style, or being willingly victim labeled of the most vicious brand marketing or having these savvy influencer feed to your visual and neuron receptors. Nope! I’d never think that it takes 1800 gallons of water AKA 3 years of clean drinking water per individual consumption, 104 showers, 12000 coffees to produce ONE pair of jeans.
Fashion is the second largest industry contributing to 10% world’s carbon emission. As our world’s greenhouse effect being directly affected, water pollution in developing country across the world, animals and other species being push to extinction due to the environmental burden indirectly caused by my own action, I formed a deep sense of longing and urge to make a change within myself, and set the example among my peers. Understand that solely my own action and my independent voice may not be scalable, ÀLA.HAUSSE became that tool where it will help this voice spread, satisfying our own buying pleasure and convenience yet tackle the real issue of environmental effect. How exactly would it help that you ask?

Through this consumerism habit shift, we indirectly slow down the urgency on fashion carbon footprint, aiding sustainability as a whole.
I foresee this transformation among me and ourselves to be an ongoing and soul enlightened journey that will bring changes to the world of fashion and general consumerism. We will at times be challenged or faced with the need for action. Through providing real time knowledge and create trust and integrity within our platform and the upcoming community of ÀLA.HAUSSE, perfecting the tools, functionalities, and technology within the platform, self-actualization process, and continuous market/word of mouth education, I believe this inevitable uprising movement will aid fashion and our longevity as humanity itself.
